Spring Season Updates

ASC Spring Registrants,

The following message is being sent as an update to the Spring 2020 seasons and the ongoing, and very fluid, pandemic of Covid-19. ASC has previously published two updates prior to this message.

March 13th Update

March 25th Update

SPRING SEASON UPDATES

At this time (April 3rd):

1.       Annapolis Soccer Club and its programs remain in a holding pattern as the county and AAYSA league are still considering a delayed start/modified season. ASC is optimistic that we can all come back together, yet, we are realistic that we cannot say when that will be.

2.       Should the Spring season be canceled, ASC will be issuing a 100% credit towards ANY future season (Fall 2020, Winter 2021, or Spring 2021).

3.       The next update will be sent out no later than April 17th.

ASC HARDSHIP FUND

We understand that this is a difficult time for families and want to help to the best of our abilities and within our means. As a response to the global crisis and reduction of pay/work for many locally, ASC is excited to announce the creation of the ASC Hardship Fund.

The ASC Hardship Fund exists to support ASC families or individuals in need during tough times. Those requesting Hardship Assistance will be able to apply to receive predetermined amounts up to $100. To kick start the Fund, ASC has temporarily shifted its Jesse Simmerman Player Scholarship Fund balance to this account. Our hope is that the benefits of our strong and diverse community can continue to prevail and help others in time of need by also considering a Donation to the ASC Hardship Fund.

If a Family wishes to donate Spring 2020 registration costs to the ASC Hardship Fund, please email ASC.

ASC COVID-19 REFUND POLICY

While our typical season has not happened, hopefully, one can be understanding that there are many administrative costs and fees paid out prior to anyone stepping onto the field. These costs range from equipment, jerseys, insurance, website registration, marketing, coaching resources, field maintenance and permits, league fees, referee costs, ASC administrators, and more. We were at the brink of our (your) season starting for both Clinic and County programs and while we have our policy for normal years, this is not a normal year by any stretch of the imagination.

Following the recommendations of local, regional, and national governing soccer and sporting bodies, along with numerous ASC internal conversations regarding club member livelihood, financial analysis, and club sustainability, ASC has come up with the following Covid-19 Refund Policy:

·         If individuals are requesting refunds now and wish to remove their player from potential Spring/Summer 2020 participation, ASC will default to the stated Refund Policy during registration. This states that a full refund can only be issued up until the time of Team Formation. After this, a 75% refund can be issued up until the time after the 1st game played (we were in this window)

o   ASC will be offering 75% refunds for the Spring 2020 season, if requested.

o   These requests will be completed within 48-72 hours and the family should see the funds bank in their account as soon as the banks have time to act on them.

o   To request a 75% Spring 2020 refund, email Annapolis Soccer Club

·         Should a family wish to recover the remaining 25% due to hardship, please complete the Hardship Assistance request linked here. ASC will be notified of your request and will act within 48-72 hours.

VIRTUAL TRAINING / RESOURCE CENTER

If you have not already done so, check out the ASC Virtual Training and Family Resource Center online. The website contains weekly practices that can be done at home along with numerous parent and family resources (soccer and nonsoccer related). Every Monday, Spring 2020 Participants will receive an email detailing the weekly training. Week 2, April 6th-April 12th, will be focused on individual passing training.

In these times of uncertainty, we hope that everyone is well and doing the best they can. Remember to be kind and keep a positive mindset while we all embrace social distancing. Our community will overcome this.

Warm regards,

Corey Childs
